Levanta 6.0 earns Silver honors in Linux Administration
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – January 22, 2008 – Levanta (www.levanta.com) today announced that its Levanta 6.0 was judged as one of the best Linux administration products released in 2007, in TechTarget's SearchEnterpriseLinux.com 2007 "Products of the Year" awards.
Levanta 6.0 was chosen from a number of new products submitted for consideration to SearchEnterpriseLinux.com in four categories. The awards were judged by the editors of TechTarget's SearchEnterpriseLinux.com, in conjunction with a team of users, industry experts, analysts and consultants. Judges selected the Products of the Year among enterprise Linux products introduced, upgraded and shipped between October 31, 2006 and November 1, 2007.
"I was impressed at how quickly a machine could be recovered or restored back to a [point-in-time] using Levanta," one judge said. "The deployment function is top-notch, making it almost as easy to deploy a physical Linux box as it is to deploy a virtual machine in VMware. It automated the entire process of Linux deployment."
Levanta's innovative data center automation solutions provide comprehensive life-cycle management for highly diverse scale-out Linux installations, featuring real-time monitoring and policy-based execution of provisioning, patching, change management, migration and recovery from systems failures – delivering unparalleled speed and simplicity.
"The rising costs of systems management clearly indicate that the conventional image and scripts-based approaches are not working, highlighting the need for innovation," said Anil Uberoi, Chief Marketing Officer at Levanta. "We are pleased that this award endorses Levanta's innovative state-based transactional approach combined with data and file system virtualization that enables a sys admin to manage hundreds of servers with the effort of one."
